TL;DR Bonsai Care Companion collects nothing. The app has no servers, no accounts, and no analytics. All your bonsai data stays on your device. The rest of this page explains, in detail, what those words mean.
None. The app has no user accounts, no sign-up, no login. It does not collect personal information, plant data, contact details, location, device identifiers, usage data, or diagnostics. There is no analytics SDK, no crash reporter that phones home, no advertising framework, and no tracking of any kind. The App Store privacy label is Data Not Collected.
Everything you enter into Bonsai Care Companion — your trees, journal entries, photos, and care calendar — is stored in the app's private sandbox on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
The app also uses UserDefaults to persist small pieces of on-device state (API category CA92.1). That information never leaves your device.
None of this is synced to iCloud, none of it is sent to any server we operate, and none of it is shared with any third party. The app has no network access for the purpose of moving your data anywhere.
Bonsai Care Companion includes a PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy manifest that declares Data Not Collected and lists the required reason for UserDefaults API use:
No data is collected from the camera or from photos you attach to journal entries.
You can take photos with the device camera and attach them to journal entries. Those photos stay in the app's on-device sandbox with the rest of your journal. The app does not upload them, does not run them through a cloud identifier, and does not share them with anyone.
Bonsai Care Companion can schedule local reminders for watering, pruning, wiring, repotting, and fertilising via Apple's UNUserNotificationCenter framework. These notifications are computed and scheduled entirely on your device. There is no push notification server, no APNs token registered with us, and no network call involved in scheduling or delivering reminders.
You control notification permission through iOS Settings. Revoking permission disables reminders; it does not affect any other functionality.
Bonsai Care Companion does not make outbound network requests. It does not connect to any backend, API, analytics provider, advertising network, or sync service. The species guide and identification photos ship bundled with the app.
The only case where the operating system talks to a network on the app's behalf is when you tap a contact or web link — for example opening Mail to write to us, or opening this privacy page in Safari. iOS takes over at that point; the app does not transmit your bonsai data.
Bonsai Care Companion ships no third-party SDKs. No Firebase, no Sentry, no Crashlytics, no Mixpanel, no analytics, no advertising. The only frameworks the app uses are first-party Apple frameworks (SwiftUI, SwiftData, UNUserNotificationCenter, and the system camera APIs). Apple's own privacy practices for those frameworks apply at the platform level and are described in Apple's privacy policy.
The app is rated 4+ on the App Store. It does not knowingly collect any data from anyone — including children — because it does not collect data at all.
If you are in the EU/EEA, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) gives you rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection regarding personal data a company holds about you.
Because Bonsai Care Companion holds no personal data about you on any system we operate, those rights have no data to apply to. Your in-app data is yours; deleting the app removes it from your device.
If you contact us by email, we keep that correspondence solely to reply and delete it once the conversation ends. You may at any time ask what we have on file about that correspondence and ask us to delete it.
If a future version of the app changes any of the above — for example, adds optional iCloud sync, or any new feature that touches a network — this page will be updated and the effective date below will move forward. Any change broadens what is stated here; it never silently narrows it.

Ze verzamelt geen persoonsgegevens, plantgegevens, contactgegevens, locatie, apparaatidentificatoren, gebruiksdata of diagnostiek. Er zit geen analytics-SDK in, geen crashrapporteerder die naar huis belt, geen reclamesysteem en geen tracking — in geen enkele vorm. Het App Store-privacylabel is Geen gegevens verzameld.
Alles wat je in Bonsai Care Companion invoert — je bomen, dagboeknotities, foto's en verzorgingskalender — wordt opgeslagen in de eigen sandbox van de app op je toestel via Apple's SwiftData-raamwerk.
De app gebruikt ook UserDefaults voor kleine stukjes status op het toestel (API-categorie CA92.1). Die informatie verlaat je toestel niet.
Niets daarvan wordt gesynchroniseerd met iCloud, niets wordt verzonden naar een server die wij beheren, en niets wordt gedeeld met derden. De app heeft geen netwerktoegang om jouw gegevens ergens anders heen te brengen.
Bonsai Care Companion bevat een PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy-manifest dat Geen gegevens verzameld verklaart en de vereiste reden voor UserDefaults-API-gebruik opsomt:
Er worden geen gegevens verzameld via de camera of via foto's die je aan dagboeknotities koppelt.
Je kan foto's nemen met de camera van het toestel en ze aan dagboeknotities koppelen. Die foto's blijven in de sandbox van de app, samen met de rest van je journaal. De app uploadt ze niet, stuurt ze niet door een clouddienst, en deelt ze met niemand.
Bonsai Care Companion kan lokale herinneringen plannen voor watergeven, snoeien, bedraden, verpotten en bemesten via Apple's UNUserNotificationCenter. Deze meldingen worden volledig op je toestel berekend en gepland. Er is geen push-notificatieserver, geen APNs-token dat bij ons geregistreerd wordt, en geen netwerkoproep betrokken bij het plannen of afleveren van herinneringen.
Je beheert de meldingstoestemming via iOS-instellingen. Het intrekken van toestemming schakelt herinneringen uit; andere functies worden niet beïnvloed.
Bonsai Care Companion maakt geen uitgaande netwerkverbindingen. De app verbindt niet met een backend, API, analyseplatform, advertentienetwerk of synchronisatiedienst. De soortengids en identificatiefoto's worden meegeleverd met de app.
Het enige moment waarop het besturingssysteem namens de app het netwerk kan gebruiken is wanneer jij een contact- of weblink tikt — bijvoorbeeld Mail openen om ons te schrijven, of deze privacypagina in Safari. Op dat moment neemt iOS het over; de app verstuurt je bonsaigegevens niet.

Onder de Algemene Verordening Gegevensbescherming (AVG/GDPR) heb je recht op inzage, rechtzetting, wissing, beperking, overdraagbaarheid en bezwaar tegen verwerking van persoonsgegevens die een onderneming over je bewaart.
Omdat Bonsai Care Companion geen persoonsgegevens over jou bewaart op enig systeem dat wij beheren, hebben die rechten geen gegevens om op toe te passen. De gegevens in de app zijn de jouwe; de app verwijderen wist ze van je toestel.
Wanneer je ons mailt, bewaren we die mailwisseling enkel zo lang als nodig om te antwoorden, en we verwijderen ze daarna. Je kan altijd vragen wat we in dossier hebben en vragen om het te wissen.
Als een toekomstige versie van de app iets aan het bovenstaande verandert — bijvoorbeeld optionele iCloud-synchronisatie toevoegt, of een nieuwe functie die het netwerk raakt — wordt deze pagina aangepast en schuift de datum hieronder vooruit. Elke wijziging verbreedt wat hier staat; ze versmalt het nooit stilzwijgend.
